Hip and Upper Body Support

The adjustable hip support assembly and belt improves the stability of a child by controlling the sideways rocking motion attributed to pedalling. Quest 88’s design leaves enough room to fidget a little, but prevents the bottom from migrating off the saddle.

The hip supports also work as a foundation for controlling stability further up the child’s trunk, and this is something we have learned over time. In this respect, the Quest 88 approach often differs from that of other companies in our field, in that we consistently advocate that if any body support or control is required it must first start at the hips.

If a child requires control further up the body, they may require an adjustable thoracic unit and/or a chest pad. In certain circumstances a head support may be required.

In order to compensate for seasonal clothing, our hip supports are adjustable in width.
