Can anyone help me with funding?
Over the last 15 years we have been aware of funding from a wealth of sources involving charities of all shapes and sizes, as well as contributions from supermarkets and public houses. In some cases however, larger, well known charities can have long waiting lists because they are in the public eye and they are popular. From time to time, larger charities may put emphasis on special needs tricycles for a season and more funding may become available.
In the past we have listed charities in our promotional material, however this has proven to be a difficult thing to sustain. Efficient charities can be saturated with applications in a very short space of time resulting in them finally having to say no, which for most charities, is something they hate having to do.
As a company we cannot guarantee funding but we try to keep our eyes and ears open to possible funding sources and we are happy to give you advice. Take a little time to explore the options available to you through the internet and maybe locally. Always enquire about current waiting lists.
Some charities organize “trike” days whereby you can try out different tricycles. This can be a convenient way of seeing the options available to you in one go. It can be a little testing if your little one is tired or has a short attention span, but it is important to remember that you don’t have to make a decision on the day. Take home the literature and consider the merits of each tricycle and the services offered by each company. The charity concerned will want to submit the application promptly, however it is your choice and your child…take your time.
I am / We are interested in your tricycles…..what’s next?
If you have any questions that this site hasn’t addressed, or if you would like some indication of costs, please E-mail Us or phone us on 01952 463050.
You can also request a catalogue Here.
In some circumstances we can suggest a specification over the phone, and subsequently send you a quotation, however it is our normal practice to arrange a demonstration, in many cases with an Occupational Therapist or Physiotherapist present at your home or at school.
You can call a regional product specialist now if you want to organize a time and date for a demonstration. The Quest 88 product specialists are very knowledgeable about the tricycles and they carry a broad range of tricycles and accessories. See our Contacts Page for more information.
The delivery time for tricycles varies between 4 and 6 weeks from receipt of order, (sometimes quicker). Payment is not normally requested until the tricycle is ready for dispatch. All major debit and credit cards are accepted.
Do I need to pay V.A.T. on a tricycle?
If you are intending to fund the tricycle yourself as a parent or guardian for an individual with a disability you are entitled to VAT exemption. Similarly if you are representing a charity involved in a purchase you are exempted from VAT.
In either case, Quest 88 requires the completion and signing of a simple form which we will send to you should you request a quotation.
My son/daughter is finding it hard to pedal their Quest 88 tricycle!
This may be due to your tricycle being setup incorrectly or if your child has grown to the point whereby the tricycle is too small or needs adjusting. In either case please Contact Us and one of our product advisors would be only too happy to assist you.
Can I trade in my old trike?
Quest 88 took the decision to register it's tricycles with the MHRA (Medicines & Healthcare Regulatory Authority) some years ago in the firm belief that as well as the recreational benefits of tricycles, they also have therapeutic value and should be deemed a medical device.
In doing so, we were making a statement of our intent to apply special considerations to this product to protect customers in the following ways:
1. Tricycles are commonly prescribed for a particular user and may not be suitable for other users. The accessories may be inappropriate which may affect the safety and stability of a user for whom it was not originally prescribed. (Quest 88 offers free assessments for it's customers to ensure that the child is correctly positioned and safe)
2. As with any responsible company, it is important that Quest 88 can identify the location of its supplied equipment should a product recall or safety notice be required. (This is of course uncommon; however it demonstrates our commitment to your child's safety).
We are aware that Quest 88 Tricycles are sold through eBay and disability forums/billboards, however we strongly advise that you seek our advice before proceeding so as to ensure that the tricycle and its accessories are entirely suitable. Always ensure that you have access to user instructions. If absent you can download them from this site or Contact Us.
All Quest 88 tricycles are supplied with new materials. Quest 88 is sympathetic to the financial implications of upgrading equipment and whilst we cannot offer "trade-ins" for equipment, we will do everything we can to assist you with your purchase. As from the 1st of August 2006, for all new tricycles purchased from this date, Quest 88 will give you a voucher worth £75 for any subsequent tricycle purchased as your child grows. Quest 88 tricycles, from May 2005, onwards are supplied with a 2 year warranty (excl. brake pads, tyres & tubes) and a 5 year frame and forks guarantee.
